ONEIDA | The midway still sits empty, but already four pageant winners have been crowned at the 100th Scott County Fair, which began Saturday.
The Little Miss Petite (0-10 months), Little Miss Tiny Tot Jr. (11-23 months), Little Miss Tiny Tot (2-3 years), and Little Miss Jr. (4-6 years) were all crowned at the fair Saturday, with pageants beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Separately, a livestock show was held for the first time in years at the 4H livestock pavilion that has long sat empty. 4H and the University of Tennessee Extension Office sponsored the show.
Mother nature was not necessarily cooperative on the first day of the fair, as multiple thunderstorms impacted the area of the fairgrounds on Stanley Street in Oneida. However, the grounds handled the water nicely, and attendees stayed dry under the pavilions that host the livestock shows and the pageants.
