Welcome to the weekend! Here’s your Friday morning #EyeToTheSky weather update: A glorious weekend is on tap, as we finally get a taste of fall. Today will top out around 74° with sunny skies, before we drop into the upper 40s tonight. We’ll see building clouds overnight, and tomorrow will give us partly sunny skies (but no chance of rain) and a high of 73°. We’ll dip to 47° tomorrow night, before getting to 73° Sunday under mostly sunny skies.
NEXT WEEK: A warming trend will kick in Monday, and we’ll be back in the 80s by Tuesday. We’ll stay dry, though, and it doesn’t look like we’re going to see a return to the 90° weather that plagued us for much of September. However, we’ll push into the mid 80s as next week progresses. We should see another cold front next weekend, which will knock temperatures back down into the 70s. It looked like we might see a couple of days with temperatures in the 60s, but that appears to be a very slim chance right now. The overall theme for at least the first half of October is going to be above-average temperatures. It looks like we’ll bounce back into the 80s at least one more time before the heat breaks for good at some point later in October.
TROPICAL WATCH: Fay has regained her tropical storm status, as she churns slowly westward through the Atlantic high seas. Further west, another wave just off the coast of Africa will likely become a tropical storm in the next couple of days. Neither of these systems will impact the U.S.
