THURSDAY WEATHER: ☀️ A Heat Advisory remains in effect today, with the heat index expected to top 100 degrees once again this afternoon. Our actual temperature will top out around 95 degrees, and may be the hottest day of the week. Yesterday’s official high at the Scott County Airport was 93 degrees, our hottest day since Aug. 20, 2025.

THE WEEKEND: We’ll see a slight chance of scattered thunderstorms each afternoon this weekend, beginning tomorrow and continuing on Saturday and Sunday. There’s currently a 30% chance of thunderstorms for Saturday, which is a pretty typical 4th of July weather forecast. Temperatures will continue to run in the low 90s each day, with overnight lows only falling into the low 70s.

NEXT WEEK: Showers and thunderstorms will be likely each day for much of next week, with high temperatures dropping back into the mid to upper 80s. It’s unlikely that any single day will be a washout; the thunderstorm activity will be hit-or-miss in nature — pretty typical summer weather. This same pattern may persist through much of July.

RIVER CONDITIONS: The Big South Fork River dipped below 1,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) overnight, but remains much above normal for this time of year (300 cfs). Further upstream, Clear Fork will drop below 200 cfs this morning — still above normal (30 cfs). Water clarity is decent on Clear Fork, still suboptimal on the BSF, and improving throughout. Water temperatures are quickly recovering from last weekend’s rainfall and soared into the upper 70s yesterday. We’ll see temperatures top 80 degrees today.
