Good Thursday morning! Here’s your #EyeToTheSky weather update for today: We’ll see a continuing chance of rain showers today, with a high of about 74°. Don’t expect much in the way of rain today, and we’ll see some peeks of sun throughout the day. Tonight, we’ll drop to around 54° under partly cloudy skies.

THE WEEKEND: A developing Nor’Easter will impact the Northeast in a negative way this weekend, but it’ll have a very positive impact on our area. We’ll see sunny skies, low humidity, and comfortable temperatures, as the system pulls cooler, drier weather into our region. We’re expecting to top out around 73° to 74° each afternoon from Friday to Sunday, with nighttime lows dropping into the 40s.

NEXT WEEK: A warming trend will begin next week. We’ll be back into the low 80s by Tuesday. The big question is just how warm we’ll get, and that’s still very much open to interpretation. At times, it’s appeared we could push 90° again by late next week, but the latest indications are that another cold front will sweep through around Oct. 1, which could deliver another bout of nice temperatures, and maybe even a couple of days with highs only in the 60s. We’re still likely to see above-normal temperatures overall in early October, and we could make another run at 80° around Oct. 6-7. Rain chances are likely around Oct. 1 and Oct. 4.

TROPICAL WATCH: The remnants of Tropical Storm Fay are restrengthening in the Atlantic, and this will likely become a tropical storm once again within the next 48 hours. However, it’ll gradually encroach upon less favorable atmospheric conditions, and is still not expected to be a threat to the United States. A second wave that’s just peeled off the African coast also has a pretty good chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, but it’ll move north and isn’t expected to be a threat to the Americas.
