TUESDAY WEATHER: ☀️ Drier weather returns, but so does warmer weather. We’ll see only very slight chances of afternoon thunderstorms the rest of the week. Otherwise, we’ll be mostly sunny, with afternoon highs rising to about 84 degrees today, 86 degrees tomorrow, and then to near 90 degrees on Thursday. Nighttime lows will be in the mid to upper 60s under partly cloudy to mostly clear skies.
THE WEEKEND: We’ll start to be better chances of diurnal thunderstorms this weekend. There’s about a 30% chance of thunderstorms on Friday, 40% on Saturday, and 60% on Sunday. Otherwise, we’ll be mostly sunny. Temperatures will drop back into the mid 80s each day this weekend.
FURTHER OUT: Temperatures and precipitation should be pretty close to normal the rest of this month. This is looking like a very boring, very typical dog-days pattern to close out July.
RIVER CONDITIONS: Streamflows continue to be much above average for this time of year. The Big South Fork was flowing at almost 2,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) yesterday, which is more typical of a flow we would see in mid-spring. Clear Fork is running above 800 cfs. Water temperatures are struggling into the low 70s during the peak of afternoon heating. Water clarity is suboptimal.
