WEDNESDAY WEATHER: Our rinse-wash-repeat weather pattern continues. Lots of sunshine. Afternoon highs of 68 to 72 degrees. Nighttime lows of 43 to 46 degrees. Very pleasant, and very beautiful, weather. It will continue the rest of this week, throughout the weekend, and into early next week.

NEXT WEEK: A cold front appears likely around the middle of next week, but the evolution of the pattern from that point on is in question. The mid-week cold front will cool us down for a day or two and we’ll struggle to get out of the 50s but will it be dry or will it bring us a little rain? Hedge your bets on dry. Then, will we bounce back into the low 70s as we head into November or will we see a second cold front around Nov. 1-2 that brings another cooldown and some more rain? That’s to be determined but, again, hedge your bets on warm and dry.

FURTHER OUT: Warmer-than-average weather will likely continue through the first half of November. We may see slightly better rain chances, though. For reference, our average highs and lows right now are 67 degrees and 40 degrees. By November 1, that will drop to 63 degrees and 36 degrees. By November 15, it drops to 58 degrees and 32 degrees. So even if temperatures are above-average, we should see a steady decline. We’ve already gone from consistently being near 90 degrees to consistently being in the low 80s to now consistently being around 70 degrees. Temperatures continue to run mostly above-normal, but we’re still transitioning into autumn.

TROPICAL OUTLOOK: A disturbance off the coast of North Carolina may become a tropical cyclone over the next day or two. But it’s already shifting northeast and will cause only minimal inconveniences to the East Coast of the U.S. Otherwise, tropical storm formation is not expected for at least the next seven days.
